Location
The Event is based at the Mouth of the Anglesea River and offers a great mix of protected paddling in the Ocean for the Demolish weekend.
Anglesea is located approximately 1hr and 20 minutes south of Melbourne, along the Great Ocean Road within the Surf Coast Region of Victoria.
Pre-Event Dinner, Gear Pick up & Briefing – Friday 13th April
Gear / Bib Pick up – From 5:30pm till 8:00pm This is also where you collect your race pack (including bibs, wrist bands etc)
Carb dinner will be held on the Friday night at HQ.
6pm till 7:30pm Petes Woodfired Pizzas will have some Gourmet Pizzas and Pasta Salads with great pricing as away of getting your Pre event Carbo hit.
Petes Woodfired pizzas is well known as the best Pizzas on the Surfcoast!
Race briefing for multisport competitors will be at 7:00 and course questions can be answered by race organiser after this
HQ
Located near Shark Park, off the Great Ocean Road. This will be the main hub for the weekend. This is where everything you need will be located including registrations. We are super excited to bring more of an atmosphere to the weekend, brining in food stalls, drinks and music. Keep an eye out for sign and Adventurethon flags.
Format
This year the new DEMOLISH format is hitting Anglesea Adventurethon. 4 individual adrenaline packed races for our athletes. This year we have pulled apart our typical format and this allows athletes to register for individual disciplines. Giving more opportunity to win and make new PBs. If you want to challenge yourself to be an ultimate athlete compete in the entire demolish.

Sunday 15th April
6:50 am Briefing – 7:20am Start Sprint Adventurethon

Presentations & Dinner
SATURDAY’S PRESENTATIONS
Saturday races (Ultra and Enduro Single-Track Attack, Surfcoast Downwinder Paddle/Anglesea Paddle and Great Ocean Trail Run) presentations will be held at HQ Saturday night 7 pm. There will be food and drinks for purchases, music and a leader board will be provided for those competing the the Ultimate Demolish.
Please plan to make a weekend of it and stay for presentations.
SUNDAY’S PRESENTATIONS
Sunday, Race HQ
Presentations time 12:30 pm
Presentations for Taste, Junior & Sprint will be conducted and then our first Anglesea Adventurethon Demolish winners will be crowned! Stick around for these presentations there will be food, drinks and a great atmosphere. Talk to the other athletes and grab some lunch!
Weather Conditions
All events can be affected by weather and will be modified if management feels necessary. Race organizers will inform all competitors with a briefing prior to the race of any course changes. We have the desecration to change things to protect the environment and competitors.
If you feel the weather conditions are beyond your abilities, you can change to an easier course by emailing registrations@adventurethon.com.au or see Race HQ.
Surfcoast Downwinder Paddle (ULTRA/LONG)
Ultra (15-17 km) Boat Drop off
We have a few options for our ultra paddlers:
- Friday trailer at HQ bring straps (name on straps) we will drop off – limited space (mainly for no support crew) – Friday 13th 5:30 pm till 9 pm
- Can drop of kayaks Saturday morning however unattended till 9 am
- If you have support crew can drop it off at start line from 9 am
Driving to Ultra Start:
Make sure you allow extra time to drive to the Start of the Ultra paddle as The Great Ocean Road can get busy. If whether is in good condition the Start line will be at Memorial Arch at Eastern View, stay updated with courses through social media. Keep an eye out for Adventurethon signs and flags. We also politely as you not to park here all day.
Bus:
3 buses have been allocated to take Ultra competitors to the start location of the paddle. These buses are first in best dressed and should be considered those who don’t have a support crew. To secure a seat email taylor@adventurethon.com.au with you name, contact number and preferred time slot.
Time table is:
8:50 am: This bus is for those who aren’t participating in MTB
9:50 am: If competing in the MTB consider when you will be finished
10:50 am: This does not leave much time before briefing
