ADVENTURETHON- 4 stage race

Would you like to add one of the most scenic and spectacular adventure multisport races to your list of achievements? Of course you would so why not join us on the awesome Western Australian Coast at Adventurethon Kalbarri. Not only do you get to compete in a unique environment, race weekend coincides with the Kalbarri Canoe and Cray Festival, a superb added bonus for seafood lovers. You are guaranteed plenty of entertainment, great scenery, fun racing, and great people so what more could you ask from a weekend? What are you waiting for, start planning now so you don’t miss out.

Adventurethon Demolish Kalbarri has a multi-sport, multi-stage, format that includes events to suit every family member. Events are specifically designed with the capabilities of all competitors in mind, to ensure an amazing and fun filled weekend for all.

You can choose to participate in paddling, mountain biking or running events across a variety of distances to suit your abilities from elite athletes to first timers and juniors. Compete in just one discipline or be adventurous and tackle two or all three disciplines.

Paddlers get to explore the Murchison River between Murchison House Station and Kalbarri if you tackle the Ultra event, the longest of the three paddle distances.  Beginners and Juniors tackle a short circuit that starts and finishes in Kalbarri.

Mountain bike courses explore the landscape around Murchison House Station, a working cattle property alongside the Murchison River. Apart from the great scenery you may come across herds of goats and cattle, just don’t crash as you watch them!

Runners are truly spoilt with two spectacular events. Run into and along the base of a  gorge on the Murchison River and tackle an awesome abseil, and/or run the coastal cliff tops around Kalbarri. Which is the best, most spectacular, most awesome run? You probably need to do both to judge for yourself, we are still arguing about that question.

We can’t wait to see your excited faces and chat about the amazing adventure  course/s you made it through, how you tried your first adventure race event, survived and became hooked.

Adventurethon Demolish will be a weekend of spectacular courses and amazing atmosphere. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Format

Adventurethon Demolish has 4 different stages for you to choose from, RUN; RIDE; PADDLE; RUN.

The beauty of the DEMOLISH format is the opportunity to PICK AND CHOOSE events that appeal to you; for example, if you are an avid Mountain biker and can’t paddle, or find it hard to get a team together, you can just compete in the ride stage or add in one or two run stages to your schedule. Those that really want to challenge themselves are able to attempt all four stages to complete the ULTIMATE DEMOLISH.

Within each stage (except stage 4) there are a choice of distances to suit all comers, from the very beginners to elite athletes, so there is ample opportunity to mix and match stages and distances to suit you abilities and perhaps challenge yourself.

Event stage times are designed to allow plenty of time for competitors and spectators to travel safely between stage locations so why not have a go at something new as well as take on disciplines you enjoy. If not competing in a stage why not head out and spectate so you get an appreciation of what is involved in other sports, but be careful, you might just get enthused and ‘wish you had been brave’.

Stage 1: Kalbarri Gorge Adventure Run Saturday  morning (1st June)

Stage 2: Goats Galorious Goats XC  Saturday afternoon(1st June)

Stage 3: Murchison River Dash Sunday morning (2nd June)

Stage 4: Bigurda Bash Sunday afternoon (2nd June)

locations

All races will be in the Kalbarri region over the weekend of 1st & 2nd June (long weekend). We have allowed sufficient time between races to allow you to easily transfer between race locations if you wish to compete in all 4 stages (Ultimate Demolish) or to spectate and see what great fun the competitors are having in the other disciplines.
