Jarad Kohlar wins Adventurethon Anglesea
Adventurethon Anglesea kicked off it’s inaugural Victorian event Saturday December 5th with the Raidlight Ultra Adventurethon, AMO Dirty Duathlon and ANS Enduro Adventurethon.
Cool, breezy conditions met the athletes as they arrived and put bikes in transition and kayaks onto the beach. The kayak leg proved challenging for many paddlers who tested out their skills in the breakers. Those paddlers who like to paddle in swells were soon headed out on their paddle and the race was on.
The Raidlight Ultra Adventurethon competitors headed out on a 16km paddle, followed by 29km mountain bike ride through some very enjoyable single track and through ‘The Maze’ and finished off with a 16km trail run.
The top 3 Elite males in the Ultra Adventurethon spent most of the race within minutes of each other with Jarad Kohlar crossing the finish line first, followed by James Pretto second and Guy Andrews third.
The AMO Duathlon competitors began with a 1km beach run and very quickly headed into transition and out on the 29km mountain bike track. They then completed a 16km trail run with Brett Coleman crossing the finish line first followed by Dean McIntosh and Rilyn Mosbey.
The ANS Enduros headed out on an 8km paddle and once back into transition they proceeded with a 23km mountain bike ride through ‘The Maze’ and back into transition to head out on an 8km trail run. First through the finish line was John Jacoby, followed closely by Nigel Muscroft and Chris Dimos.
Plenty of action amongst the women and Juniors which will be included in the full Race report.
