NEW Protected Paddle for Enduro Adventurethon
NEW Protected Paddle for Enduro Adventurethon
Get ready to blitz the paddle in your next Adventurethon with Adventurethon Magnetic Island on the 19th March changing the ENDURO paddle course to a NEW protected paddle. Competitors will now do 3 laps of a great, intermediate option, keeping them away from the elements and freeing up more people to be able to do the Enduro.
This is a perfect step up from the Taste of Adventurethon seeing paddlers head out from Picnic Bay and around buoys in a triangle. If the weather determines, we can make changes to give paddlers optimal wave direction, making the paddle not only achievable for more paddlers, but also really fun.
Joel Savage, Event Director says, “In growing the sport of Adventurethon, we were keen to make Saturday’s Enduro event still just as tough, but a perfect step up from the Taste of Adventurethon on the Sunday. I am excited to see who will take the challenge and leap from the Taste into the more challenging course”
As well as being more enjoyable paddle for competitors, the new layout is a lot more spectator friendly, allowing friends and family to watch the paddle from Race HQ/Transition. During the entire Enduro paddle, spectators can see, and get some great photos of their friends and family on their paddle leg.
After the 13km paddle, Enduro competitors will head out on a 29km Mountain bike ride and 12 km trail run.
People wanting to tackle the hardest paddle will be pleased to know that the Ultra paddle remains unchanged.
