Volunteer Spotlight – Tracy Grosvenor
We all know that any great event can’t work without the support of great people. And on this National Volunteers Week we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how much we appreciate each and every person who volunteers for us. Every volunteer makes a difference to the competitors on the day, with a friendly smile, or helping keep them on track and safe and so much more.
Volunteer Spotlight – Tracy Grosvenor
Event Location – Kalbarri, Western Australia
You will find Tracy outdoors and active – Anything involved with the ocean, camping, surfing are her ideas of fun. So it is no surprise that she is part of the Kalbarri Sea and Search Rescue Group crew who stepped up to volunteer at Adventurethon Kalbarri for the last 2 years. Having such a good team helping with the water safety of competitors really makes a difference.
“I find it is good to be of service and know that the paddlers are safe,” says Tracy.
Tracy loves Kalbarri and its incredible, picturesque landscape. (and so do we – it is one of the main reasons we chose it for one of our locations!) The views are spectacular and definitely worth the trip.
She shared that one of her best volunteering moments was watching that last paddler (in 2015) put in a massive effort for hours against the ocean and he finished the course, a real top effort.
“It is great to great to get out in the environment and inspiring to see people challenge themselves,” Tracy finishes, so get out and volunteer.
Thank you to Tracy and all the crew at Kalbarri Sea and Search Rescue Group, as well as all of the Kalbarri Volunteers.
